Huffman Coding

Although my weblog showed up on a “Canned Angst” Google search a few days after the first post, this weblog has been flying mostly under the radar. I’ve told fewer than a dozen people about its existence. I don’t even think my wife knows about it. (I’m not hiding it from her, but I know she doesn’t care about my geek proclivities.)

I was willing to accept from the first day that this blog was an act of trite narcissism and this has been confirmed over three months because there have been no comments left on the weblog.

Well I got my first reader comment three days ago, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. It was for a spammer using my webspace to advertise for his body-part enlargement pills. He had added links from my weblog to his scam drug website. I removed the comment immediately, but evidently this gentleman has been corrupting other weblogs as well. And I doubt there are just two of us.

And the sentence at the end of the comment: “If you find this entry inappropriate please remove it from your database!” How could the originater think it would be appropriate?
